Basic Belief and Bible Doctrine
of the Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Only, Inc.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
II Timothy 3:16-17
The Doctrine, Discipline and Rule’s of Order of the Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Only, Inc., are based on the Word of God as written by holy men of God.
Membership in the Body of Christ, the true church, is obtained by obeying God’s plan of salvation. All must be born again of the water and Holy Spirit (John 3:5-7; I Corinthians 12:12-27; Galations 3:26-28). God’s word declares that “by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body: and that is a baptism of “Water and Spirit.”
Repentance is the first step a sinner must take to be accepted by God (Psalm 51:17). Jesus Christ commanded that repentance and remission of sins be preached in His name beginning at Jerusalem (Luke 24:47).
Water baptism is required by immersion in the “name of the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5).
“Ye shall receive the HOLY GHOST!” This is a promise for every believer and is the completion of the new birth. The initial evidence of the infilling or receiving of God’s spirit is by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The Holy Ghost fell on many instantly (Acts 2:2-4; 10:45,46; 19:6) others waited or tarried for the infilling (Acts 8:14-17).
NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: Old things are past away, behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 (Also read Romans 6:1-12; I John 1:7; II Peter 1:5-8.)
OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S LAW
The Ten Commandments are God’s law to man. This law is based on LOVE—love of God and love of man (Matthew 22:36-40). The law was spoken by God (Exodus 20:17) and written by God (Exodus 31:18) and is to be obeyed by every born again believer (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14; I John 5:2,3). The fourth commandment requires that the Sabbath (seventh day) be remembered and kept holy. It is a day of rest and worship. God blessed and sanctified this day in creation (Genesis 2:2,3). The Sabbath was made for man (Mark 2:27) and is to be observed from sunset the sixth day (Friday) to sunset the seventh day (Saturday) in accordance with creation— “the evening and the morning was the first day”.
“We believe that HOLINESS! Is not a religion but a way of right living that God requires.”
